Welcome!
Hello, my name is Judy Silva. I have been working with and around horses for about 40 years and have had the priviledge of riding and working with various types of horses from Sheltand ponies to Peruvian Paso's and many horses in between.
Dolly (in the photo below) and I started competing together when I was about six years old in Alberta. We went to open shows and competed in gymkhana and pleasure riding events in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. God definitely made Dolly for kids.

Showing for about 15 years in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and North-western Ontario competing in western and english disciplines provided extensive experience in different settings. Showing successfully against competitors from across Canada and the United States was a good learning experience. Sometimes it was very stressful and other times it was lots of fun reconnecting with friends who were also your competitiors.
The best ride of my life was in Spring 2011. It was me, my mare Classy (in the photo above) and God. We were in the arena and in the zone. I used no tack - no bridle, no halter, not saddle, just a soft cotton lead line and draped it around her neck and we went riding. It was awesome.
Another memorable ride happened a number of years ago, when I was a teenager. Ahtough, there are elements of competing that are enjoyable, nothing beats going on a trail ride with your favorite horse. I remember after show season one year, my mom let me take out our Purebred Arabian Stallion, Wil Marah Artemis for a ride in the gravel pits. We raised Artemis from the time he was 1 years old and he is still one of my favorite horses.
It was a warm autumn evening, quiet with a slight breeze brushing through my hair. The power of an Arabian Stallion beneath me galloping through the sand... just me, Artemis and my Heavenly Father...It was the best ride of my life.
The photo below is of Wil Marah Artemis and myself when Artemis is about 26 years old.
